As a PADI dive shop it was with great pleasure we welcomed PADI’s NZ and Pacific Regional Manager Jen Clent, to the resort. Jen had loads of valuable information for us which she presented during the PADI update held at Volivoli Beach Resort and Ra Divers “Ra Bar” we had attendees from through Tourism Suncoast
What we didn’t realise was Jen had another surprise in her bag of goodies other than the tried and true PADI lanyards, pens, posters and flags 🙂 SHE HAD AN AWARD FOR US!!
Its was with pleasure Resort Manager Nick Darling, accepted the PADI 20 Years of Outstanding Service Award, Nick said “To be recognised for such an award is something we are very proud of, It takes a lot of work to maintain this level of service for our guests, None of which would be possible without the Ra Divers Crew of course”
He continued “Ra Divers has been in our family for over ten great years, However its important that Graham Burnett (Founder of Ra Divers Fiji) be recognised also, after all it was Graham who initially had the vision to set up a dive operation in such a remote area over 20 years ago, realising then the quality and uniqueness of the diving in the Bligh Waters!
Since taking over operations some 15 years ago its been the work of my brother Steve Darling Jnr, his wife Natalie and parents Steve and Gail, that has brought us this far, bringing Ra Divers from a small operation located on Nananu i Ra Island to today being the biggest on the island with the most state of the art Dive Shop and compressor set up has been no easy task.
We look forward to welcoming divers from all over the world for the next 20 years” Nick concluded.
As divers its important that we all do our little bit for the ocean and our marine environment! you may wonder what the crew are doing in this pic?? “Give em the Fin” is an initiative one of our partners, the Sea Save Foundation have come up with to raise awareness around shark finning so get out there and Give Em the Fin! using @seasavetweet & #GiveEmFin all images uploaded to the mosaic will be part of the billboard that we will have at CITES
