Dive Shop Manager, RME6 Captain, Dive Instructor

Originally from the island of Kioa, home of the Polynesians of Fiji, and now living on the outskirts of Rakiraki Town, he started diving in 2000 and his favorite dive site is Pure Magic, and loves looking for Pygmy Seahorses.

Fun fact: loves spending time underwater with a camera in hand, he’s always looking for a new model so make sure your trim is spot on and you never know, he could make you famous.

Seci

Fleet Captain, CL6 Captain, Dive Instructor

Born and raised on Yadua Island, on a clear day you can see this small island on the horizon 50kms away almost directly north of the resort. He now resides in Nakorokula Village, and started diving in 1998, Seci knows the Bligh Water better than anyone, his favorite dive site is Gee Six, and he loves diving with sharks, especially Hammerhead sharks.

Fun fact: we call him Captain Sexy.

Akeimi

CL6 Captain, Open Water Diver

Born in Rakiraki, raised and resides in Nakorokula Village just 9kms from Volivoli Beach Resort, he is passionate about guest comfort and safety, he might be quiet but he watches everything.

Fun fact: he loves meeting new people from around the world, chatting to them about their homeland and how things work compared to Fiji.

Pola

 CL6 Captain, Dive Instructor, Fishing Guide

Like his nephew Josh he is from Kioa, where he was raised until 18 years of age, before relocating to Rakiraki Village, he started diving in 1996 and knows the Bligh Water as well as anyone, with his favorite dives being Black Magic Mountain or Mellow Yellow, and enjoys all the amazing soft coral reefs.

Fun fact: he once fell head-first out of a coconut tree, knocking himself out on the beach (this may explain a lot), only to regain consciousness a little while later with a rising tide lapping over his face.

Born and raised in Rakiraki Village, he started diving in 2009 and his favourite dive site is Black Magic Mountain, his favorite marine creature is Octopus. Willo is also a Ra Divers internship graduate.

Fun fact: the crew call him Shorty – however he is still not allowed to ride the seahorses.

Born and bred in Rakiraki Village, he started diving in 2005 and his favorite dive site is Black Magic Mountain, he would love to dive with Whale sharks.

Born in Rakiraki, raised and resides 15-minutes away in Nakorokula Village, he started diving in 1999, with his favorite site being Mellow Yellow and loves seeing Ornate Ghost Pipefish.

Fun fact: he is not related to Hans Solo from Star Wars, however would love to meet that Chewbacca dude everyone keeps asking about.

Jah

RME6 Captain, Dive Instructor

Born in Rakiraki, raised and lives in Navolau Village No. 2, just 10kms from Volivoli Beach Resort, he started diving in 2019, and says his favorite dive site is Pot Luck, and loves spending time enjoying the amazing soft coral reefs. Jah is also a Ra Divers internship graduate.

Fun fact: his 1st time riding a horse, he was 12 years old, he got the horse to run, it ran right in front of the house where all the extended family was gathered, and bucked him off right onto his a%$, quickly jumping up, pretending it didn’t hurt, he then quietly slithered off around the corner out of everyone’s sight, collapsed winded and wounded, feeling very sorry for himself – this was the first, and last time, he rode a horse!

Apenisa

Just like Seci, he was born and raised on the tiny Yadua Island, a protected sanctuary for the endangered Fiji Crested Iguana (Vokai), one of the world’s rarest and most attractive lizards. He now resides in Rakiraki Town, and started diving in 2015, his favorite dive site is Black Magic Mountain and he enjoys finding Nudibranch and Ghost Pipefish. Apenisa is a Ra Divers internship graduate.

Fun fact: at around 10 or 11 years of age Apenisa was in church with his mum, dressed in his very best Sulu (sarong), when falling asleep on the pew, his legs wide apart, and of course, he hadn’t taken the time to wear any underpants that day so the usher had to wake him in front of the rest of the congregation – we’re not sure he’s been back to that church since.

Tuks

Born and raised in Rakiraki Village, he started diving in 2020, his favorite dive site is Instant Replay and he loves finding and spending time with Turtles. Tuks is also a Ra Divers internship graduate.

Fun fact: at around 10 years of age his dad came back to the village after a day of fishing and had a very large Titan Trigger fish, and for those who know, these things have very big and strong teeth, so the ever inquisitive Tuks decides to touch them with his finger, unfortunately for him the fish was still alive, and needless to say there was lots of yelling and crying as the fish was attempting to have its last meal, before becoming one itself.

Born in Lautoka, was raised and lives on Nananu-i-Ra Island, less than 2kms directly across from the resort, he started diving in 2015 and his favorite dive site is Black Magic Mountain, he loves looking for Ghost Pipefish. Etika is a Ra Divers internship graduate and is also Josh’s brother.

Fun fact: champion coconut tree climber.

Suliana

Born and raised on Matuki Island, 179kms SE of Suva, in the Lau Group, she now lives in Rakiraki Town, and started diving in 2022, her favorite dive site is Mellow Yellow, and she loves finding Frogfish. Suliana is a Ra Diver internship graduate.

Fun fact: she’s also a ‘kick-ass’ rugby player, and represented the Ra Province, you’ve been warned, so tackle her with caution.

Born in Lautoka, raised and resides in Rakiraki Village, he started diving in 2019, with his favorite dive site being Golden Dreams, and he loves the macro critters. Bloss is a Ra Diver internship graduate and is also Tuk’s brother.

Born in Suva where she spent her first 5 years before relocating to Rakiraki Town where she now lives, she started diving in 2022, her favorite dive site is Mellow Yellow, and her favorite marine life is the Leaf Scorpionfish. Kelera is a Ra Divers internship graduate.

Fun fact: sent into town early one day to pick up some flour for mum to make dinner for the family, she got caught up with her friends and spent way too long wandering around, not returning home with the flour until after 8pm, to a very hungry family – we understand she had trouble sitting down for a day or 2 afterwards.

Born and raised in Nadi until 8 years old, and then relocated to Rakiraki Village. Sam is a Ra Divers internship graduate.

Fun fact: one of his household chores is to provide fish for the family, and whilst spearfishing at night he has had several close encounters with ‘sharky-the-taxman’ coming to claim their piece of fish – so far all fingers, toes, feet, and hands are all accounted for thankfully.

Born and raised in Rakiraki Village. Tex is also Tuk’s & Bloss’s brother. Tex is a Ra Divers internship graduate.

Fun fact: as little kids his big brothers used to ‘set him up’ when it was bath time, so he would run away and get in trouble with their dad – once you get to know this family, you’ll never stop smiling.

Paris

Born on Fiji’s second largest island, Vanua Levu in Savusavu however did his schooling in Ra and lives on the hillside overlooking Volivoli. Paris is a Ra Divers internship graduate.

Fun fact: Paris is both loud and funny. One of his chores is to tend the family’s herd of goats, however one morning one of the billy goats took umbrage to being moved away from the nanny goats and rammed Paris against the wall ripping his shorts. Billy Goat 1 – Paris 0

Asivina

Born and raised in Suva before relocating to Rakiraki Village in 2015.
From as early as she can remember, Asivina has always been passionate about the ocean and marine life, and in this role is eager to explore the underwater world, share her passion with others and help educate on marine protection and preservation of the ocean environment.
Fun Fact: she loves playing netball and has represented the Ra Province at the National Netball Games.

Adi

RME6 Captain, Intern

Born and raised in Rakiraki Village, spent primary school education at Rakiraki District School from Early Childhood Education (pre-school) up until year 8 and was badged as head girl of the school in 2020 and awarded as Dux of the School.

Adi very much enjoys playing netball, soccer and is part of the Ra Women’s Rugby team, wearing the # 9 half back jersey.

As well as being Kali’s sister, Adi is a 3rd generation member of the team with her uncles and grandparents working at Volivoli Beach Resort.

Fun Fact: Adi is a talkative young lady who likes to speak at every opportunity, the Pastor in her church has nicknamed her Base, as her voice is always louder than the JBL speakers.

She also holds a certificate in fiberglass boat repair.

Ratu Kali

RME6 Captain, Intern

Kali, just like his sister Adi, was born and raised in Rakiraki Village, spent his primary school education at Rakiraki District School from Early Childhood Education (pre-school) up until year 8. He was also badged as head boy of the school in 2020.

He enjoys playing volleyball, rugby, singing and exploration of a vast array of beautiful things.

As well as being Adi’s brother, Kali is a 3rd generation member of the team with his uncles and grandparents working at Volivoli Beach Resort.

Fun Fact: Kali is quite a dancer and you’ll often see him dancing to any rhythm or beat. We also call him Shaggy!

Sailosi

RME6 Captain, Intern

Born, raised and schooled in Labasa, on the island of Vanua Levu, Fiji’s second largest island, for the first 24-years of his life. Initially making his living and supporting his family and young son who was born in 2021 through wild boar hunting with his 8 hunting dogs. He believes the biggest wild boar he has caught was well over 140kg (300lbs). He is also an avid freeder and spearfisherman supplementing his income and providing food for the family.

Sailosi relocated to Rakiraki Village in 2024.

Fun Fact: when Sailosi was in primary school his grandmother used to cook fish everyday for his school lunch, and his friends and classmates used to call him Fish, and they still do to this day.

Sikeli

RME6 Captain, Intern

Born in Suva Hospital in Fiji’s capital and was raised in Rakiraki, completing his schooling locally at Rakiraki District School. Since leaving school he has developed a strong tourism and hospitality history, with experience in a variety of roles working in many fields including, kitchen, housekeeping, food & beverage, and grounds – he is a strong and competent “all rounder”.

Like so many Fijian’s he loves playing rugby and has also played for the Ra Rugby Union at representative level.

Fun Fact: as a young child Sikeli used to “ditch” Sunday School to climb and hide in the mango trees with his friends.

Ratu Tukini

RME6 Captain, Intern

Born and raised in Rakiraki Village where he has spent most of his life in this beautiful patch of paradise. He is a keen rugby player and loves meeting new people and exploring new locations.

Both Tukini’s parents, mum Milika, and dad Jone, are long term senior key members of the Volivoli Beach Resort family, as is his brother JR. Tukini is also Kali and Adi’s uncle – keeping it in the family.

Fun Fact: he is very much looking forward to a lifelong adventure exploring and protecting marine ecosystems. His nickname is Guts (ask him why).

Currently living at Ellington, just a few minutes from the resort however he was born and raised here in Rakiraki. A true “local lad”, the Bligh Water is where his umbilical cord was cast, he is at one with the local waterways.

Fun Fact: very afraid of stingrays, he thinks they are lying in wait to attack him.

Born in Ba, brought up Nagoro until he was 7 years old, where he then moved to Naria, just 5-minutes from Volivoli Beach Resort.

Fun fact: if it’s broken, he can fix it + his son is our Finance Manager and his daughter our HR Manager.

Born, raised and resides down the road in Naria, just 5-minutes from Volivoli Beach Resort.

Fun fact: quite possibly the hardest working person in the team, and pumps around 59,000,000 litres, yes 59-million liters of nice clean diving gas each year to keep everyone nice and safe, that is equivalent to filling around 25-olympic size swimming pools.

Born in Rakiraki, raised and resides at Ellington, just 5-minutes from Volivoli Beach Resort.
