Volivoli Press Release #2

On 20 and 21 February 2016,Category 5 Severe Tropical Cyclone Winston swept through Fiji and Volivoli Beach Resort received a direct hit from the cyclone with the eye wall passing directly over the resort

“We are now just a little over three weeks since impact and have a better idea of the reconstruction plan and time scale” states Nick Darling (Darling family spokesperson and Resort General Manager)

He continued, “We now have the roof back on the Deluxe Ocean View Rooms and also the lodge, our carpenters are working through the internal fit out of ceilings, painting and preparing for reopening. These rooms will be completed by the 15^th April 2016

Now that we have been able to take a good look at what is required, we will be working to the following time line”

15^th April 2016,

• Complete the reception building and facilities
• Complete 9 Deluxe Hotel rooms
• Ra Divers & Dive shop fully functional

16th April 2016,

• Commence reconstruction of 8 Standard Ocean View rooms

16^th June 2016,

• Commence reconstruction of the Premium Ocean View Villas

1^st July 2016

• Commence reconstruction of the main facility (Nuku Bar)

1^st April 2017

• Intended Full resort reopening  

FIT (Frequent Independent Travellers) 

• Volivoli Beach Resort will start to accept FIT (Frequent Independent Travellers) guests from the 1^st April 2017. All existing FIT bookings for travel between 16^th March 2016 – 31^st March 2017 must be cancelled. A full refund will be applied where necessary.

Group Travel (10 – 24 Travellers)

• Volivoli Beach Resort will accept dive groups between 10 – 24 travellers from the 15^th May 2016. Our current existing reservations will take priority over any new reservations as long as they are aware and consent to understanding Volivoli Beach Resort will have construction noise.
• For any new group reservation for travel between 16^th March 2016 – 31^st March 2017 we will offer 25% DISCOUNT on accommodation meals and diving. For all existing group reservations for travel between 16^th March 2016 – 31^st March 2017 all paid group members will receive a $100.00 RESORT CREDIT to be used freely at the resort.

Construction disruption Notice

• All GUESTS MUST be aware that Volivoli will be undergoing construction between 07:30 – 17:00 daily causing noise disruption to some rooms and common areas
