What a way to spend 4th of July!
This year saw the Dive Shop on McEver divers celebrating the 4th of July (Fiji Style) on the beach in Fiji, In fact on the Northern most beach of the main Island, Viti Levu at Volivoli Beach Resort.
Being from NZ myself I was not familiar with what the 4th of July celebrations entail in the USA, so with a little help from Doctor Google I soon found out its basically lots of fire works, hotdogs, burgers, beers and a good social time with friends and family! EASY
- Cartet watching the fireworks
- Wilo at the Meke
- Volivoli Beach Resort from the water
So with that in mind we set up a beach bonfire, fireworks, bbq, burgers, chicken wings, BEER and a Fijian Meke (traditional dance performed by the Volivoli Meke group) a great night was had by all including the kids at the resort watching fireworks shoot into the air in ever color imaginable much like the soft coral in the surrounding reef systems dived during the week!
After 7 nights and 5 days of amazing diving it was time to say goodbye, so after a series of handshakes, hugs and kisses we waved goodbye to our new friends who we hope to see again soon!
